The working parts

Catch Basins & Drainage Pumps in Kansas City

The components that make a drainage system work: collect the water where it gathers, and move it away from your home, even when the grade will not do it for you.

Some water problems come down to a single spot that always collects, a low corner, the base of a slope, the end of a downspout run. Catch basins and pop-up emitters capture that water and route it where it belongs.

And when there is nowhere for gravity to carry it, an exterior drainage pump does the work, lifting collected water up and away from the foundation to a safe discharge point. We install these as standalone fixes or as part of a full French drain or waterproofing system, clean, level, and built to last. Everything is exterior, we never work inside your basement.

What we install

Catch basins

Set at the low points to collect surface water and feed it into an underground line, capped with a clean grate.

Pop-up emitters

Flush, mow-over outlets that release buried-line water well away from the house, then close back up.

Exterior drainage pumps

Where gravity will not carry the water out, an outdoor pump station lifts it up and away from the foundation to a safe discharge.

Area and yard drains

Targeted inlets that pull water off the spots that always pool, patios, walkways, and low corners.

Fully integrated

We tie these into your French drains, downspouts, dry wells, and grading so the whole system works as one.

Good questions

Frequently asked.

What is the difference between a catch basin and a pop-up emitter?
A catch basin collects water at a low point and sends it into a line. A pop-up emitter is where a buried line releases that water at the surface, away from the house. Many systems use both.
What is an exterior drainage pump?
When a low spot has nowhere to drain by gravity, we install an outdoor pump that lifts the collected water up and out to a safe discharge point away from the foundation. It is all exterior, no basement work.
Can you add these to my existing drainage?
Yes. We regularly upgrade and repair existing systems, adding a basin, giving a buried line a proper outlet, or installing a pump where the grade will not cooperate.
What if there is nowhere to send the water?
That is often a job for a dry well, an underground reservoir that lets water disperse into the soil. See our dry wells page, and we will recommend the right fit at your free assessment.
